FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in person or remotely?

Both. We attend meetings in person throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and Greater Los Angeles, and by video for families in Tucson, Flagstaff, San Diego County and other communities. Records review, document drafting and preparation sessions work the same either way. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

How do I know which school district is responsible for my address?

District boundaries are not always obvious, particularly in Phoenix and Los Angeles where elementary and high school districts overlap. Send us your address and we can confirm which district and school are responsible before you send a single request. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

Do you serve families outside Phoenix and Los Angeles?

Yes. In Arizona we work with families in Tucson, Flagstaff, Prescott and communities across Maricopa and Pinal counties. In California we serve families throughout Greater Los Angeles, including the South Bay, San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

Can you attend a meeting in a district you have not worked with before?

Yes. Our process starts with the documents, not the district. The law and the timeline are the same statewide; what changes is the team and the programs available, which is exactly what the records review identifies. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

How do I find the right city page?

Use the directory above. Each city page lists the districts that serve that community, the local issues families bring to us, and the questions we answer most often for that area. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

Do you charge extra for travel to meetings?

No separate travel fee is added for meetings within the metro areas we serve. For locations outside them, any travel is discussed and agreed in advance. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

Can you help if we are moving between Arizona and California?

Yes. Moving states changes eligibility criteria, timelines and sometimes the services your child receives. We help families prepare for the transfer so services do not lapse in the transition. You can also browse our city pages to see how we work with districts in your area.

Still not sure where to start? Book a free consultation and we will review what you have, explain what the documents actually show, and tell you honestly whether advocacy is the right next step for your family.
